FOOD SHIPPING TO CANADA

Ship food and snacks to Canada: check ingredients, packing, and route boundaries

Hotpot bases, spicy snacks, rice noodles, and seasonings cannot be answered with a blanket yes or no. Sealed retail packing, meat, egg, or dairy ingredients, liquid content, powder form, quantity, and route rules all affect acceptance.

  • Ingredients must be checked first
  • Keep retail packing and labels intact
  • Do not assume all food can ship

CHECK INGREDIENTS FIRST

Screen food by ingredients and form

Food has more cross-border restrictions than ordinary goods. These categories narrow the initial review; actual ingredients, packing, quantity, and available route decide the outcome.

01

Sealed vegetarian snacks and seasonings

Items with full labels and no meat, egg, or dairy can be considered through sensitive or special-goods review, subject to the route.

02

Liquid, sauce, or powder products

Leakage, unlabelled powder, and liquid content need extra disclosure and packing review; route availability is not automatic.

03

Fresh, meat, egg, and dairy goods

These face stricter limits and should never be sent to the warehouse without confirmation.

WHAT TO PROVIDE

A product name is not enough for food

Send the ingredient list, retail label, product name, quantity, packing photos, declared value, and full Canadian postal code. This lets the route review distinguish a labelled vegetarian snack from a restricted food product.

Keep goods in sealed original packaging. Loose, unlabeled, damaged, leaking, fresh, or short-shelf-life items are more difficult to assess and may be refused.

Food and restricted-goods rules

Ingredients

Flag meat, egg, dairy, fresh ingredients, and unknown powder. The complete ingredient label matters.

Packing

Use sealed retail packaging and add leak protection and cushioning for sauces or fragile containers.

Quantity

Large quantities can require additional review even when an individual product appears acceptable.

Route and postal code

Eligibility and delivery conditions remain route- and destination-specific.

FOOD FAQS

Common food-shipping questions

Can snacks ship to Canada?

Some labelled, sealed products can be reviewed, but ingredients, quantity, packing, and route rules control the result. Do not treat all retail snacks as eligible.

Can hotpot base and sauce ship?

They require an ingredient, container, leakage, and route review. Products containing restricted ingredients or unsuitable liquid packing may not fit the same route.

Why are original labels needed?

Labels help identify ingredients, product form, quantity, and handling requirements. They are essential for a meaningful eligibility review.
